Card Issuing

Card Reveal SDK Versions

Column's card reveal SDKs for the web (@column-na/card-reveal) and React Native (@column-na/card-reveal-react-native) release together at the same version and follow semantic versioning↗. This page explains which versions Column supports, how you hear about changes, and what happens when a version is no longer supported. See the changelog for what changed in each version.

Support Policy

  • Column supports the latest two minor versions of the SDKs, for example 0.12.x and 0.11.x. Older versions keep working until Column raises the minimum version, with notice.
  • Security fixes may require upgrading within 30 days of the release that fixes them. If an issue can't wait, Column can raise the minimum version sooner and will tell you at the same time.
  • Pin an exact version (npm install --save-exact, or the hosted script with its integrity hash), and upgrade deliberately. Each hosted version is published once and never changes.

How Column Tells You

Before raising the minimum version, Column emails your platform's technical contacts with the date, the version to upgrade to, and what changed. Every release is listed in the changelog, with breaking changes and required actions first.

How the Minimum Version Is Enforced

Each reveal request tells Column which SDK and version made it. When a version is below Column's minimum, Column refuses the reveal before using the reveal token:

  • The SDK's ready rejects with a CardRevealError whose code is reveal_failed, status is 403, and apiCode is card_reveal_sdk_upgrade_required.
  • The reveal token isn't used up.
  • Nothing is shown in the card's fields.

Handle card_reveal_sdk_upgrade_required like any failed reveal in your UI, and treat it as a signal to upgrade.

The current minimum is 0.7.0 for both SDKs: every reveal token is bound to a key from prepareReveal(), which earlier versions don't have.
